FTP
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is basically a method for transferring files. I mostly use it to upload files to a web server.
Until recently I had been using FireFTP, an addon to Mozilla Firefox browser, but I found that it was corrupting images as I was uploading them to the webserver. I have now moved onto Filezilla and have not had any problems so far.
Below is a list of more FTP programs for you to choose from:
SmartFTP is another ftp-client and has two editions, home and business.
CuteFTP offer a 30 day free trial. CuteFTP offer three ftp-client options, Professional, Home and Mac Professional.
SendThisFile is another FTP service. It is used to send files that may be larger than your email ISP allows. You will need to register for a free account. I have put this on my Virtual Assistant website so that clients can send me large files. The free account only allows you to send one file at a time. If you check out my VA website you will see the free version also has advertising on it.
