I actually use PhotoImpact7. I got the program free when I purchased my computer. It has been highly sufficent for my needs which is basically resizing images and creating some small graphics. I’ve just done a search for it and came up with a free download of version 12 from download.cnet.com
GIMPshop
GIMPshop is a free program intended to replicate the feel of Adobe Photoshop. Its primary purpose is to make users of Photoshop feel comfortable using GIMP. Some maintain that GIMP is better than PhotoShop. So what factors make it better?
- The most obvious is the price GIMP is FREE and PhotoShop can cost around $700.
- It’s smaller in sizeso is quicker to download and will take up less space on your hard drive.
- It is easier to use than PhotoShop so it is quicker to learn.
- All upgrades are free too. PhotoShop charges for each upgrade.
- Gimp is portable. A portable version is available to save onto a USB flash drive. It can then be taken anywhere and used on any computer.
